TLDR!
Here’s what to expect from this month’s very short update:
An update on the audio recording of “Shadows Over Seattle: Prequels 1-6”
Accountability report
Audio Adventures
Provisional recording for “Shadows Over Seattle: Prequels 1-6'“ is now completed.
I’ve been using ElevenLabs to generate customized voices for each of the characters in the stories, and I am loving the results. (I provided a sample in last months newsletter).
Using text-to-speech has been an adventure in learning creative ways to trick the AI into correctly pronouncing names and words that it had trouble with. Words like lupine became loo-pine, lu-pine, lupe-ine so it correctly referenced the name my wolf-shifters use for their species.
But after all that, the current run-time on the audiobook is 3 hours, 11 minutes. That’s before any revisions that need doing, or going back in and adding sound effects. And that’s this month’s task, along with finalizing the outline for “Of Wolves & Men”!

Writing/Editing Update
I’m shortening this section of the updates to actual achievements for each month.
Finished formatting & AI voicing “Shadows Over Seattle: Prequels 1-6” and now it’s time to check if it needs any revisions following a full listen-through. Then time to add sound effects, if needed.
I have a pretty comprehensive outline for “Shadows Over Seattle: Book 1 - Of Wolves & Men”, which just needs a few tweaks before I start writing.
